My grading policy follows the Twin Hills Handbook. Assignments given for the week will not be considered late until after 3:20 on the Friday of the week it was assigned. We started a new incentive program last year to motivate students to get their work turned in a timely manner. Every 9 weeks that a student doesn't have late work, they receive recognition at an assembly and a pizza party.
The exception to this late work policy is in my 5th, 6th and 7th grade computer classes. If a student is absent from computer class one day, they will not be expected to make it up. Fifth and sixth grade still receive a Satisfactory or Unsatisfactory grade on their report card for computer class. Seventh grade will receive a letter grade from a variety of math, reading, spelling and grammar software programs.
